Discussion at ALA Annual: Assessment! How do your distance librarians do it?

Assessment!  How do your distance librarians do it?
Join us in Anaheim for another stimulating discussion for distance librarians.  DLS members and non-members are welcome!

Sunday, June 24th, 10:30 am to 12 pm
Pacific Ballroom C & D
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel

The Discussion will follow presentation of the 2012 Routledge Distance Learning Award.

Want to read a paper on assessment?  The Discussion Group Committee suggests these papers from the Distance Library Services Conference:

  • “Aided and Embedded:  The Team Approach to Instructional Design” by Leslee Shell, Steven Crawford, and Patricia Harris.
Ms. Shell offers short quizzes within her learning management system.
  • “Listen to What They Have to Say!  Assessing Distance Learners’ Satisfaction with Library Services” by Michael C. Alewine.
Mr. Alewine gives students a short, 5-question survey, similar to Amazon’s method of rating vendors.
