DLS and ULS at the 2014 ALA Annual Conference in Las Vegas

Please join DLS and ULS at the 2014 ALA Annual Conference in Las Vegas!

Leading From the Side: On, Off and Within Your Campus

Saturday, June 28 – 10:30 to 11:30 am

Academic librarians Jade Winn (University of Southern California), Wm. Joseph Thomas (East Carolina University), and Kyle Denlinger (Wake Forest University) will speak about their roles as leaders within their institutions, not through administrative authority but through innovation and creativity.  There will be an emphasis on changing the landscapes of digital research and distance learning.

At the conclusion of the program, attendees will be able to define the concept of leading from the side and apply leadership skills to their current and future professional library roles; identify strategies for building coalitions both vertically and horizontally within an organization; and demonstrate leadership throughout the organizational structure.

Be sure to check out our LeadingFromTheSide_DLS@ALA2014 flyer.

This program is presented by the Distance Learning Section and University Libraries Section of ACRL.  Hope to see you there!
